I went on a trip in search of Warblers with the Tropical Birding 2019 Warbler Tour through Kentucky, Ohio, and Michigan USA. The tour was with Tropical Birding (http://www.tropicalbirding.com): The Warbler Tour in Three States and over Thirty Warblers May 9 - 20, 2019. This post will cover the first part through Kentucky and southern Ohio but first the feature photo is a Cerulean Warbler we found in southern Ohio.
We found Pine, Prairie, Kentucky, Swainson plus a number of life birds during the first couple of days on the tour. One night, at the Shawnee Lodge, we found an American Woodcock. It was impossible to photograph until a flash of light hit the bird and I was able to capture the bird. Our guide had a flashlight but I didn’t realize it was him that lite up the night. The image turned out well considering I used an ISO 25600 and a low shutter speed of 1/125s and f/4.0.
